Sustainable Pathways: Building Financially Healthy Organizations

Offered as a webinar or as a face-to-face sponsored workshop

Sustainable Pathways: Building Financially Healthy Organizations is a three-day workshop that assists nonprofit organizational teams to create a sustainable, balanced two-year fundraising plan. Up to three individuals work as a team on their funding plan and complete the training with a written fundraising plan complete with timelines and an assigned task list.

This is an intensive, hands-on class where organizational teams complete a funding plan. Up to two additional members from your organizational team may attend the workshop with you for one registration fee, but all participants must be working on the same funding plan.

Subjects covered in the class include:

  1. Introduction -- Funding Trends -- Getting Started -- Analyze Your Current Income
  2. Determine Your Funding Objectives – How to Cut Costs & Save Money -- Develop a Fundraising Strategy
  3. The Eight Methods of Fundraising -- Membership Program -- Major Donors Program -- Corporate Giving Program
  4. Special Events Program -- Planned Giving Program -- Grants Program
  5. Capital Campaigns -- Endowment Campaigns –
  6. Assigning Tasks to People -- Completing Your Plan & Implementing It

Cost: $1500 per team of up to three people working on the same plan

Face-to-face classes: 2.0 units of continuing education credit are available from the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the class for an additional fee of $60 per person. Classes taken on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus will automatically be charged one $60 fee per team in addition to the registration fee.

Webinar workshop: Groups larger than three participants may participate in the webinar workshop, however, they must all be working on the same organization’s plan. Webinars will provide instruction over the web via PowerPoint for visual and toll-free audio conference via phone line. In the webinar workshop, instruction will be interspersed by breaks for teams to work together, with an instructor online to answer questions that may come up during work sessions.
