One of the best ways to improve your organization’s bottom line is to cut expenses. Here are some grant opportunities around the subject of energy:
For national grants try:
Constellation Energy Community Partnerships Program http://www.constellation.com/ Their interest include invests in and supports for nonprofit organizations that are working to improve the quality of life and home energy conservation in communities with significant company operations. Deadlines for grants over $10,000 are April 1 and September 1, annually.
Sempra Energy Foundation

The Sempra Energy Foundation is dedicated to investing in creative ideas and innovative approaches that can result in high-impact change in communities in need. Their interest includes programs that promote sustainability and the advancement of new environmental and energy technologies including energy efficiency. Applications are accepted from April through October.
In the south:

The Foundation supports conservation, training, and research around environmental and energy efficiency initiatives.
With a focus on Native Americans:
Honor the Earth http://www.honorearth.org/
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Grants will be provided to organizations that improve weatherization and efficiency in buildings in Native communities and/or develop renewable energy projects.
For National and international:

The Energy Foundation is a partnership of major foundations interested in sustainable energy. The Foundation's geographic focus is the United States and China, with special emphasis on regional initiatives.
